Who is Carol Moffatt?

Carol was born and raised in Etobicoke, Ontario. She’s a 3rd generation cottager on Beech Lake and has been a permanent resident at Boshkung since 1991 (that’s downtown Boshkung, not on the lake!).

Carol’s a writer, photographer, historian and passionate supporter of the Haliburton Highlands. She knows this community, its people, its history and its issues; and she works hard to make the right decisions for the community’s future.

Education

Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (Crime & Deviance) – University of Toronto
Print & Broadcast Journalism, with Honours – Humber College

Work experience

Carol has worked in journalism, advertising, marketing, communications and human resources. She helped her husband run his locally-owned and operated electrical and commercial diving businesses for 18 years and together they bought, renovated, leased, ran – and sold – two local restaurants between 1991 and 2001.

Within months of moving full-time to the area, Carol began volunteering in the community.
